The Woman in Tech Program supports women-led tech companies to raise, accelerate, and scale in California. From February 7-11, 2022, our CEO, Susan Blanchet, and Director of Operations, Lillian Karebi, attended the program. It included direct introductions and one-on-one meetings with investors and strategic partners, participation in forums to build market knowledge and learn best practices, access to and advice from local experts and mentors, and a pitch day to pitch Origen Air to several California-based venture capitalists and angel investors.
About the Program
The 2022 Women in Tech California Program is a business development & venture capital program for scalable, women-led tech companies run by Global Affairs Canada through its Consulate General in Los Angeles and Consulate in Silicon Valley (Palo Alto).
“Our government is committed to supporting Canadian women entrepreneurs as we build a strong, inclusive economy. That is why our government launched the Women’s Entrepreneurship Strategy — a more than $6 billion investment to remove barriers facing women entrepreneurs and increase access to the financing, talent, networks and expertise they need to start up, scale-up, and thrive,” said the Honourable Mary Ng, Minister of International Trade, Export Promotion, Small Business and Economic Development.
