Origen Air, supported by UVic Coast Capital Innovation Centre, is pleased to announce that it has been awarded $100,000 from Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC) to further the development and commercialization of Origen Air’s cutting-edge air purification technology.
“We are excited to receive this investment from SDTC and start a project in the field to further prove the efficacy of our natural air purifiers,” said Susan Blanchet, CEO of Origen Air. “Their support will enable us to accelerate the development of our technology and bring it to market more quickly, helping us to improve indoor air quality and reduce the negative impacts of air pollution on human health.”
Origen Air’s technology uses enhanced plant air purification to remove particulate matter, volatile organic compounds and carbon dioxide from the air, making it ideal for use in homes, offices, and other indoor spaces. The company’s mission is to create a healthier and more sustainable indoor environment for people everywhere.
“The past few years have made the importance of clean indoor air top of mind for many Canadians” says Leah Lawrence, President and CEO, of SDTC. “Origen Air is bringing the air purifying power of bioengineered plants into a commercial setting. SDTC is proud to support the team at Origen Air, as they further build out this exciting innovation.”
