Since its inception, Origen Air has hired over 30 local Victoria, BC co-op student positions in engineering, software development, biology, and business, supporting students in developing their professional growth and gaining start-up and manufacturing experience.
For the 2023 winter term, we have been fortunate enough to have these three intelligent and motivated students working with our team. We are pleased to welcome Marcus Rinzsch, Breda McIntyre, and Joelene Neumann, to the Origen Air Team. They bring their unique skills and passion for our core values of sustainability, health, diversity, and grit to the everyday at Origen Air.
Marcus, a Mechanical Engineering co-op student from the University of Victoria, works with our engineering team to critically think and optimize hydroponics, supply chain, and source better components to optimize V3 of The Pinnacle™ Air Purifier. He is tasked with aiding in the manufacturing of our Pinnacle™ units and making the manufacturing process more efficient and sustainable. In his free time, Marcus enjoys restoring his car, solving problems, and taking photos.
Breda, a Mechanical Engineering co-op student from the University of Guelph, works with our R&D and Manufacturing team to build our natural air purifiers. With her interest in machine design, Breda focuses on 3D design and printing using SolidWorks software. She is passionate about sustainability and ensuring a better future through engineering. In her free time, Breda enjoys playing games, hiking, and playing music. She can play the guitar, piano, and electric ukulele!
Joelene, a Biology co-op student from the University of Victoria, ensures that the plants in our Pinnacle™ natural air purifiers continue to thrive. She works collaboratively with the engineering team and spends most of her time nurturing and tending to our ever-expanding nursery of genetically enhanced plants. As well, she works on our customer service and maintenance team. Outside of work, Joelene enjoys playing soccer and taking her dog Mango for walks.
