CEO Susan Rae Blanchet attended the Canada-Mexico Business Lunch at the The Union Club of British Columbia. This event brought together Canadian and Mexican business leaders to foster collaboration and growth, taking advantage of the Trade Agreements that both countries share (CUSMA and CPTPP). Susan initiated conversations to manufacture the home unit in Mexico.

Susan Attended the Distinguished Entrepreneur of the Year Awards (DEYA). This gala celebrated individuals who have had a significant and positive impact on society and demonstrated entrepreneurial leadership, innovation and community contribution like Bobbie Racette. DEYAS was an excellent opportunity to connect and network with a variety of business professionals.
Susan spoke on the panel – Cultivating Sustainable Global Entrepreneurial Women Leaders for a Thriving Future – alongside incredible female leaders at the International Leadership Association (ILA) Global Conference in Vancouver. This panel showcased the FREE coaches and sessions, each of the 2023 We Empower Awardees got for 6 months to prepare them for the We Empower SDG Changelle in NYC, where Origen Air won the Inaugural Climate Action Prize.
CEO joined the TELUS Community Board, serving on the Telus Vancouver Island Community Board and the Friendly Future Foundation.The TELUS Community Boards are at the forefront of creating positive change in our communities. Making impactful funding decisions, the 13 Canadian TELUS Community Boards make recommendations on the allocations of local grants. These grants support registered charities that offer health, education or technology programs that help youth thrive.
CEO spoke at the 2023 ‘STATE OF THE ISLAND’ ECONOMIC SUMMIT on the panel Innovation Island – Clean AIR with Moderator – Graham Truax, Executive Director & EiR Innovation Island Technology Association. Susan presented Origen Air, as a sustainable solution to indoor air purification. The Summit has become the MUST ATTEND event in the region for business leaders, decision-makers, community and island stakeholders to connect.

Origen Air was a Finalist for Startup of the Year (<10) for the VIATEC Community Awards presented by VIATEC, Victoria’s tech industry association. The awards brought the tech community together to connect with each other and take a moment to spotlight and celebrate some of the year’s most notable companies and individuals within Victoria’s $4 billion tech sector.
Origen Air is part of the Mexico Cleantech CTA program offered by the Canadian Trade Commissioner Service. This is a hybrid, 20-week program in which the Canadian Technology Accelerators (CTA) global business development program provides the knowledge and connections to enter the country. Origen Air is looking to secure third-party manufacturing and distribution partnerships for our home/desktop air purifier.
CEO was invited by Alyse Nelson, President & CEO of Vital Voices Global Partnership, to join Vital Voices partners at COP28 UAE as a climate leader for the launch of the Global Climate Convening (GCC) project.
The Conference of the Parties (COP) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) is an international climate summit, which is held annually unless the Parties (the countries involved) decide otherwise. The 21st session of COP (COP21) led to the Paris Agreement in 2015, which mobilized global collective action to limit the global temperature increase to 1.5 degrees celsius above pre-industrial levels this century, and to act to adapt to the already existing effects of climate change.
CEO attended the Sustainable Synergy panel discussion presented by The Scotiabank Women Initiative and The Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce, exploring the topics of finance, economics, ESG & resilience. This event welcomed women and all advocates supporting the progress of women in the workforce, encompassing individuals who identify as male, non-binary, two-spirit, transwomen, and beyond.

CEO was part of the seventh Women’s Business Mission to Asia Series, a trade mission to Thailand and South Korea organized by the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada. This unique opportunity brought together Canadian women entrepreneurs with businesses in South Korea and Thailand to promote gender inclusive trade to support small and medium-sized enterprises and catalyze international partnerships between Canadian companies and key markets in Asia.
